Summer fun

This summer it is much harder to get out and do things with the kids because of the twins' age. We have made a trip to see Grandma Cathy (see pics of the waterfall) on the first free weekend of the summer. Annika turned 7 (omg no pictures!) and we celebrated with a water party at our home. We had slip-n-slides and waterguns, both of which Joe played with. On the 4th of July we went down and watched the old fashioned tractor parade in Wallowa where the kids caught tons of candy and Keagan even got thrown a new hat! Then we hit the flea market, had a picnic at Lostine trail head, and ended our evening with a fire in our backyard fire pit and fireworks in our driveway. This year we skipped the large fireworks at the lake because of how hard it is to chase Eva and Xander and they don't want to be held or drug around all evening. Soon we will have more freedom to do things they can't do right now. Today we drove up to Wallowa Lake and the big kids rode the go-carts with their dad. We plan on heading there this week for a day of fun by the water.

Our summer is full as usual, our fruit trees are budding and already I've picked and cooked rhubarb pies. Our vegetable garden didn't turn out that well this year, we planted late and had some other issues with it but the kids each have a container garden that is doing well. Thankfully we aren't dependent on what mom grows outside to eat!

I won't list all our plans for this summer both so no one will call us on it if it doesn't happen but also so I have something to post later. I hope everyone is doing well and comes to visit soon.
